An experienced Data Lead is required to play a key role in the delivery of a major transformation program focused on the rollout of new distribution centre capabilities and supporting technology platforms. This is a 12-month contract, working closely with project leadership, business stakeholders, and technology teams to deliver critical data capabilities across the program.
You will lead the strategy, planning, and execution of data migration and data management activities across a complex enterprise environment, ensuring the successful establishment, extension, and migration of data objects required to support new operational solutions. The program involves a range of systems and integrations, including SAP EWM, TM, ECC, and warehouse automation platforms.
This role will lead data strategy and delivery across the full project lifecycle including design, build, testing, and deployment, ensuring the integrity, quality, and availability of data required to support operational readiness and enterprise processes.
This is: what you’ll do
- Define and lead the overall data strategy for the program, ensuring alignment with project timelines and delivery objectives
- Scope and map data objects across relevant functional streams and enterprise systems
- Lead the planning and execution of data migration activities including validation and quality assurance
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and SMEs to define data requirements and migration rules
- Monitor and manage data quality, integrity, and security throughout migration and implementation activities
- Analyse migration outcomes, identify defects, and coordinate resolution with development teams
- Provide clear reporting on migration progress, risks, and quality metrics across the program
- Act as the primary point of contact for all data-related matters within the project
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data dependencies are understood and addressed
This is: what you’ll need
- Proven experience leading data migration activities within large enterprise transformation programs
- Strong experience working within SAP landscapes, ideally including EWM, TM, or ECC environments
- Background in data architecture, governance, and data quality management
- Experience defining and executing data migration strategies and frameworks
- Strong understanding of data structures, mapping, and transformation processes
- Ability to translate complex data insights into practical delivery outcomes
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience working within structured project delivery environments and SDLC frameworks
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as JSOX is beneficial
