A rare contract opportunity has emerged for an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to shape the strategic data architecture of a large, complex enterprise environment.
This role will lead the design and evolution of the organisation’s enterprise data landscape — ensuring data platforms, governance frameworks, and architecture standards enable trusted analytics, automation, and AI adoption. Working closely with technology and business leaders, you will define the enterprise data roadmap, architect modern cloud-native data platforms, and ensure data is treated as a strategic business asset.
You’ll operate at the intersection of architecture strategy and hands-on design, guiding the evolution of enterprise data platforms while partnering with delivery teams to ensure architectural intent becomes operational reality.
This is: what you’ll do
- Define and evolve the enterprise data architecture, including current and future state models aligned to business strategy
- Develop enterprise and domain data roadmaps supporting analytics, reporting, automation and AI enablement
- Architect modern, cloud-native data platforms with a focus on scalable and secure data foundations
- Design enterprise data models across conceptual, logical and physical layers
- Lead architecture for enterprise data platforms integrating operational, ERP, and business data domains
- Establish enterprise standards across data governance, data quality, lineage and metadata management
- Guide the implementation of modern ELT/ETL pipelines and enterprise data integration patterns
- Partner with business leaders across finance, supply chain, manufacturing and sales to align on common data definitions and outcomes
- Provide architectural leadership across enterprise transformation initiatives and digital programs
This is: what you’ll need
- Proven experience as an Enterprise Data Architect or senior data architecture leader within complex enterprise environments
- Deep expertise in enterprise data architecture, modelling and platform design
- Strong experience designing and operating modern data platforms (Snowflake, Azure, AWS or similar)
- Expertise across data governance, MDM, metadata management, data quality and enterprise data standards
- Experience integrating enterprise data across complex ERP ecosystems such as SAP
- Strong understanding of cloud architectures, integration patterns, and modern data engineering practices
- Demonstrated ability to define architecture roadmaps and influence executive stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage across technical and business leadership
