Azure Migration Engineer

We’re seeking an experienced Azure Migration Engineer to support a large-scale cloud uplift and infrastructure modernisation program. With a major focus on migrating virtual machines and workloads into Azure, this role is ideal for engineers with deep hands-on experience using Azure Migrate and related tooling.

You'll be part of a dedicated cloud transformation team responsible for planning, executing, and validating complex migration waves. Experience with Azure VMware Solution (AVS) is a strong advantage, particularly in supporting legacy workloads where rehosting is required.

This is: what you’ll do

• Lead and execute migration of workloads to Azure via Azure Migrate and related tools
• Conduct assessments, discovery and planning for lift-and-shift or replatform migrations
• Align migrations to Azure Landing Zone standards, governance, and security architecture
• Create migration runbooks and documentation for repeatable, scalable delivery
• Support testing, cutover, validation, and rollback processes
• Provide technical troubleshooting and post-migration support
• Contribute to AVS-based migrations where applicable
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, and backlog refinement

• Proven experience delivering Azure workload migrations at scale
• Deep hands-on knowledge of Azure Migrate, ASR, and migration wave planning
• Familiarity with Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, routing, and peering)
• Experience with IaaS/PaaS transitions and VM dependency mapping
• Understanding of RBAC, governance, tagging, and Landing Zone configurations
• Scripting capabilities in PowerShell, ARM/Bicep, or Terraform
• Strong documentation and stakeholder engagement skills

• Experience with Azure VMware Solution (AVS), HCX, vMotion, and private AVS clouds
• Exposure to Active Directory and SQL Server replatforming
• Agile or DevOps delivery environment experience
• Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-900, or AVS Specialty
